Human Systems Architecture™ · Coaching Supervision

Where coaches reflect, replenish, and stay resilient.

Coaching is demanding, and often solitary work. Happy Whole Human® Coaching Supervision gives you a safe, collegial space to reflect on your practice, care for your own well-being, and keep your work ethical and sharp, together, every Monday.

Why supervision

Great coaches do not grow in isolation.

The very things that make coaching powerful, presence, empathy, and holding space, are also what wear coaches down. Supervision is where you step back, make sense of the work, and return to your clients steadier and sharper.

The work follows you home

Triggers, projections, and the weight of what clients carry can quietly accumulate without a place to process them.

Ethical grey zones

Real practice raises dilemmas that no manual fully answers. You need trusted peers and a framework to think them through.

Practicing alone

Without reflection with others, blind spots stay hidden and good habits drift. Growth needs a mirror and a circle.

HWH Supervision is not about policing. It is a trusting, collegial partnership that equips you to deliver best practice with confidence, agility, and integrity.

What supervision is

A reflective space with three purposes.

Following the EMCC and ICF traditions, supervision is a collaborative learning practice that builds the coach through reflective dialogue, and safeguards the quality and ethics of the work. It does three things at once.

  • Developmental
Enhancing your skills, knowledge, and capacities as a coach.
  • Resourcing
Supporting your well-being, so you can keep showing up whole.
  • Qualitative
Ensuring the ethical and professional quality of your coaching.

Clear distinctions

Supervision and ICF mentoring, side by side.

They are different practices with different purposes, and they complement each other. At HWH® you can do both, back to back on Mondays.

ICF Mentoring

Mondays, 12 to 1pm CST
  • Focuses on developing the ICF Core Competencies
  • Required for ICF credentialing (ACC, PCC, MCC)
  • Group or one to one formats, with a minimum of 3 hours one to one
  • Includes specific feedback on recorded coaching sessions

Coaching Supervision

Mondays, 11am to 12pm CST
  • Focuses on reflective practice and professional well-being
  • Optional, and widely recognized as valuable for coach development
  • Often in groups, and available one to one
  • A broader discussion of coaching challenges, ethics, and personal growth

Mentoring sharpens the competencies. Supervision tends to the whole coach. Together, they keep your practice strong.

The Agile Wellness cycle: Inspect, Adapt, Improve, repeating

The framework

Inspect. Adapt. Improve.

HWH® Supervision runs on the same structured yet agile framework as the rest of the Human Systems Architecture™ ecosystem, an empowering cycle of learning and self-awareness that compounds over time.

  • 1
    Inspect
Reflect honestly on your practice, a case, or a challenge, with skilled peers and a supervisor.
  • 2
    Adapt
Turn insight into small, deliberate shifts in how you coach and how you care for yourself.
  • 3
    Improve
Return to your clients steadier and sharper, then bring the next reflection back to the circle.

↻  Inspect → Adapt → Improve, so your service quality, well-being, and resilience grow together.

Questions

Questions coaches ask.

What is coaching supervision at Happy Whole Human®?

HWH® Coaching Supervision is a dynamic, reflective, whole-person process that supports the continual growth, well-being, and ethical development of coaches and mentors. It provides a safe, collaborative space to reflect on your practice, run on a structured yet agile framework of Inspection, Adaptation, and Improvement. It is not about policing; it is a trusting, collegial partnership. Weekly group supervision is held on Mondays, led by Dr. Lisa Leit, an EMCC ESIA-accredited coaching supervisor.

What is the difference between coaching supervision and ICF mentoring?

ICF Mentoring focuses on developing the ICF Core Competencies, is required for ICF credentialing at the ACC, PCC, and MCC levels, and includes specific feedback on recorded coaching sessions. Coaching Supervision focuses on reflective practice and professional well-being, is optional but widely recognized as valuable, and opens a broader discussion of coaching challenges, ethical issues, and personal growth. At HWH® you can do both, back to back on Mondays.

When does group supervision meet?

Group supervision meets weekly on Mondays from 11am to 12pm CST, at least 35 times a year, in groups of one to ten participants. On the fourth Monday of each month, that hour is used for dedicated HWH® Business Development instead. ICF Group Mentoring follows from 12pm to 1pm CST, and a HWH® Happy Hour community runs from 1pm to 2pm CST.

Can supervision hours count toward my ICF credential?

Yes. Attendance is tracked, and ICF credential-holders may submit up to 10 hours of Coaching Supervision as core competency Continuing Coach Education (CCE) units toward credential renewal.

Who can attend?

HWH® students pursuing certification, HWH® Pro Membership subscribers, HWH® Team Coach Premium subscribers, and coaches seeking group supervision independent of a program. You are welcome to bring topics from your work as a team coach, a coach of individual clients, or a relationship coach.

What happens in a session?

Sessions typically include check-ins, exploration of the topics you bring, reflective discussion, and actionable feedback. Approaches may include reflective practice with one participant at a time, rotational participation, a co-development case-presentation model, ICF mentoring, or a blended approach, depending on the group's needs.

Is what I share confidential?

All participants agree to maintain confidentiality regarding personal and client information shared in sessions, and client cases are anonymized. Confidentiality does not extend to information indicating harm to self or others, or to breaches of legal or ethical standards. HWH® takes reasonable measures to protect confidentiality but cannot guarantee against breaches by other participants.
